President and CEO – Denendeh Investments Incorporated
Darrell Beaulieu was appointed President and CEO of Denendeh Investments Incorporated (DII) and group of companies in October 2005. DII is the General Partner of Denendeh Investments Limited Partnership (DILP) which holds investments on behalf of the NWT Dene First Nations in Oil and Gas, Mineral Exploration, Communications, Infrastructure Logistics, Power Generation and Supply, Remediation and Real Estate. As part of DII Group of Companies, Mr. Beaulieu is a Founding Director, President and CEO of DEMCo Ltd., a mineral exploration company established in 2013; and iDene Ltd. a remediation and environmental solutions company established in early 2016.
Mr. Beaulieu served three terms as the Chief of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation and was founder and Past President of their economic arm, Deton’cho Corporation between 1990 and 2000 and CEO from 1997 to 2002. He was also President and Director of Denendeh Development Corporation from 1995-1997. Mr. Beaulieu serves on numerous boards throughout the NWT, including: Director on various Northland Utilities Enterprises Limited boards; Chair of the Northwest Territories Business Development and Investment Corporation; Chair of the Akaitcho Business Development Corporation; Member of NWT Mining Industry Advisory Board and Director of the NWT Law Foundation. He also serves on several national boards, including: Indspire (formerly known as the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation); Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business; and the National Orphaned and Abandoned Mines Initiative. Mr. Beaulieu was recently honoured by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada with the Skookum Jim Award for exceptional Aboriginal achievement in the Mineral Industry.
