National Manager for Aboriginal Banking – Business Development Bank of Canada
Monica is a member of the Peter Ballantyne First Nation, (Saskatchewan) and is currently the National Manager for Aboriginal Banking at the Business Development Bank of Canada. Her team solely services the financing and consulting needs of Aboriginal entrepreneurs across Canada.
In this role, Monica oversees the departmental direction ensuring the bank is current on the identification of client service needs, development of new programs and services, and staff training and development. Using her extensive experience, Monica provides expert leadership and advice on leveraging business development opportunities in the Aboriginal market and creating strong alliances with Aboriginal service providers.
Monica was a founding member for the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce. She values volunteerism and is a board member for Mother Earth Recycling. Past board positions include Board and Finance Committee Member for the Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce and the chairperson for the Stonewall Children’s Centre. Earlier in her career, Monica enjoyed her role as a Committee Member for the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers Winnipeg event (2013).
