Peter Dunn, i2i Global Indigenous Economic development Advisor and GHD Pty Ltd Business Development Manager, has been pioneering Indigenous economic development through advancing Indigenous enterprise in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste.  He is advising a number of Indigenous enterprises to grow their market share and capacity develop. He is a business mentor to some of Australia’s leading Indigenous businesses, and in some cases founded them, including Barpa Construction, National Aboriginal Construction Partners Murumal and co-founded i2i Development Projects. The establishment of these businesses required Peter to work closely alongside Aboriginal communities to build their capacity and governance.

Peter has over 30 year’s experience working with and alongside Indigenous communities both in Australia and developing countries. He pioneered a Remote Area Family Support Service model in Cape York between 1980-85. During a 15 year career as a senior academic in social science and Indigenous health he was appointed founding Director of the Australian Rural Health Research Institute and co-founder of the Centre for Rural and Remote Social Policy.  Peter was awarded a Churchill Fellowship in recognition of his human services to remote and rural Australia.

More recently he has 18 year’s experience with designing and delivering Indigenous programs in developing countries principally, Indonesia, PNG, and Philippines. Pete is highly supportive in advancing i2i Development Pty Ltd in delivering foreign aid.

Peter was instrumental in GHD winning 7 national awards in 2012 and 2013 for Indigenous Leadership including the National Consult Australia Award.  In 2015 he established the iHUB, an incubator for Indigenous owned start-up companies delivering to the Australian Government.
