Monty Morrison JP: Kaumatua and Community Leader is of Ngati Whakaue, Te Arawa and Ngati Tuwharetoa heritage and a former teacher and entrepreneur living with his wife and family in Rotorua, New Zealand. Monty has wide experience in and a passion for Education Excellence and the Arts and Culture generally.
With a passion for music, the performing and visual arts, he is a Patron and advocate sitting on a number of Trusts. In 2009 his professional conference and events organising company was nominated NZ Events Business of the Year. Through his company Monty has lead or had pivotal roles in many major community successes. Today Monty is a member of the Maori in Tourism Network and The Rotorua Chamber of Commerce and in his role as Kaumatua, he regularly speaks on behalf of his people and the community. He is also a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Rotorua Sunrise and is currently employed as Cultural Advisor Maori, at Rotorua Lakes Council
