The University of Waikato has delivered Māori focused initiatives on behalf of the Centres of Asia-Pacific Excellence (CAPEs) since 2018. Ngā Hononga-ā-Kiwa (NHK) is a deliberate ecosystem that brings together students, educators, businesses, Māori and Indigenous communities and thought leaders in Business and Education, where Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi underpin our approach and inform our delivery.

Ngā Hononga-ā-Kiwa (NHK) references the many connections made through the travels of the legendary voyager and explorer Kiwa through the Pacific. This panel will feature speakers who continue to participate in this ecosystem after their own participation in the flagship Māori Business programme, Te Hononga-ā-Kiwa (THK):

Rennae Cherry

Rennae currently works as a Graduate Economic Analyst at Te Pūtea Matua (Reserve Bank of New Zealand). She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Policy and Honours in Economics. Rennae was part of the 2020 delegation that engaged with Vietnam.

Rennae’s tribal connections are Ngāti Maniapoto and Ngāti Raukawa.
