Biography
Tania Armenta is the President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque. She has been with the organization for 26 years and has led the organization for the last 8 ½ years. She is a forward-thinking and proven leader known for building partnerships to reach goals as well as developing strong and talented teams. As the official destination organization for the city, Visit Albuquerque is responsible for promoting Albuquerque as a competitive and world-class leisure, meeting, convention and sports destination, and enhancing its public image as a dynamic place to live and work. Through the impact of travel, Visit Albuquerque strengthens the city’s economic position and provides opportunity for people in the community.
Tania serves on several national and local boards including as the chair of the Destinations International Accreditation Board, as a New Mexico Tourism Commissioner, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the Jennifer Riordan Foundation and Ski New Mexico. She’s also a member of the Albuquerque Business Issues Council, Economic Forum, the New Mexico Amigos and the International Women’s Forum. – NM Chapter.
Tania has been inducted into the New Mexico Tourism Hall of Fame, has been named one of Smart Meetings “Smart Women in Meetings” award recipients and “Tourism Professional of the Year” in New Mexico.
Prior to Visit Albuquerque, she held positions in marketing for a magazine publisher and a sports organization in addition to working in the hotel industry. She earned her Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communications, with distinction, from the University of Nebraska.
